Mount information

All our mountboard will showcase your artwork without fading or damaging your artwork material. These mountboards are 1400 micron (1.4mm) thick and have a crisp 45 degree bevel on the inner edge, cut by a precise computerised mountboard cutter (CMC) accurate to 0.02mm. All our picture mounts are either Whitecore or Conservation grade mountboard. Acid Free Core is Bright White and will remain so .

We stock a wide range of mount board suitable for all types of artwork. As all our mounts are ph neutral and acid free they will protect your art over time. Prices are for single quantity/bespoke,

Advice

A mount always adds to a picture in giving extra depth and quality to the finished artwork. Here is some advice on picking the correct mount for your picture:

We can cut any border and width required but as a general guide a mount should be no less than 25 mm all round, although we would recommend a min of 40 mm. Please note we cut mount openings to the exact size you tell us. You can change each border, left, right, top and bottom. A large border can make a much greater impact with the right art work. Traditionally a further 10% weighting to the bottom border was applied.

Double mounts look great with the bottom mounts the darkest colour.

If framing a pastel drawing we would advise to use a double, if not triple mount, to keep the artwork well away from the glazing.
